Invent a new review game for the end of a chapter. How would it be structured? Would there be a clearly-defined winner? Make sure this game incorporates everyone in the class, where everyone is actively reviewing the material on some level.
On some cards, you can write a math problem but not the answer. Then people can match the cards with the same answer on it, and the most person who matched the cards win.
We should play something like a Monopoly game and each time when it's your turn you pick a card. On that card it says how many step you can go if you get the question right and a question. If you answer the question right you can move your "Figure" forward and if you get it right you'll have to go back one space. The goal is to get your "Figure" to the finish line. Then the winner gets a candy!! ^^
I think writing all the questions and answers and matching would be fun to play as Suji said. Also, bingo would be fun to play except that everyone has different kinds of cards.
We can play something like monopoly like Jinho said ( hard to set up) and on some cards there can be problems related to the chapter and like for harder questions we move more spaces and easier questions you move less and the goal is to try an reach the finish and a prize would also be a good idea :p
I think that the game should be like, when Mr. Jobe gives us a question, he should have 2 choices of answer. He tells us which side of the room is one solution and the other side is other solution. Then, we think about it and go to the side with a correct answer
We can play something with flash cards and write some questions down and this game could be played with 2-4 people. And whoever gets it right, gets the point. And After the game is all done, the people count up the points and whoever gets the most point, wins.
There can be something like jeopardy. There can be flash cards with a equation on the back and you can decided what points is one card is worth. So groups will take turns to choose a card and answer the question. If group gets the question wrong than the next group will get a chance to steal. So the group with the most points can win.
I think that we should have like a memory game. Two cards that equal or mean the same things can be one solution and we can have teams and the winning team with the most matches can get a prize
I think we should have a japery game in the Math class. There should be a math problem in the japery. A person that who answers the first in the board , should be the person who gets the points. At the end, we will count how many points there are. I think this will be fun!
One way to review the chapter in a fun and easy way would be getting in teams of 4, then solving math problems that Mr. Jobe gives us. Then, the team with the most correct math problems would win the game.
Some math card games could be where there is a stack of cards, and one person pulls one out. Then all the people in the group (4-6 people) try to solve the math problem on that card and whoever gets it first says,"I got it!" BUT they have to explain HOW they did it or else it doesn't count. If they can, then they get that card. Whoever has the most cards in the end wins and gets the prize (possibly candy?:D)
I think Tae Hun's idea is really great because we did something like jeopardy in Social Studies and everyone had lots of fun and it was a great review!
I like Suji Ahn's idea because it will improve on our math skills and it will be really fun to play this game in our Math class. So it will be a great review game in our class!
I think that we can just get into groups of team and have a card game. On the card, right down the problem and flip it backward. In the team of 2-4people, each person take their turn and flip one card. When the person flips the card, all team members solve the problem fast and whoever gets the most point wins.
I like the review game idea of Suji because I think it would be fun to play, improve our math skill, and I think it is the perfect review for the chapetr. (Easy to memorize the chapter's focus)
I think that Jane's idea is a good practice for improving your math skills. In her game, you would be able to know the person who won or did not. You would be able to solve your math problems faster and improve as well.
I think that the class should split into one group in 4 and partner up 2 to 2 and play against each other. So one person asked any question for 40 seconds and the one who answer the most questions win the game
I would like to make a simple game. Such as jeopardy because this game is popular in studying and also creative. As the number goes higher you get a harder question. And some categories such as word problems, simple questions, etc. This can make us review the chapter again.
I like Joonyon's idea because it is very simple and fun to review with students. This would also be easy to make up because you won't need any other materials to perform this task.
The review game should be some kind of challenge game by first dividing the class into equal groups, so it is fair. Mr. Jobe should make about more than 20 questions with a point value and he should put up one question each time and the first person to raise their hand would get the privelege to say the answer and if that group gets it right then that group should the amount of points the question is valued. If that group gets it wrong then that group loses the amount of points and the second group that raised there hand can steal the problem.
I think that Taehun's idea of playing jeopardy is an OK idea because the students would enjoy jeopardy a lot and also all the students would be able to participate in the jeopardy game.

ReplyDeleteI think David's idea was creative, because it involves moving to another side of the classroom and choosing the right answer of the difficult problem.
ReplyDeleteP.S.- The questions should be extremely difficult, because if the problems are easy, everyone would go to one side, never ending the game.
